Dockland office building

Dockland looks like something out of another world. Its unusual shape makes it a real eye-catcher. The office building juts out into the Elbe River like the prow of a ship. The building is best viewed from the water. The roof terrace offers one of the best views of Hamburg. Climb the stairs and enjoy the view – completely free of charge.

You can't miss Hamburg's city hall when you visit the city. The magnificent building in the heart of the city is a feast for the eyes. With its ornate facade, large tower and numerous sculptures, the city hall is a typical example of historicism. Elbphilharmonie

The imposing Elbphilharmonie is another of Hamburg's landmarks that you should see with your own eyes. It spectacularly combines the historic Kaispeicher foundation with a futuristic glass wave. Inside, fantastic concerts take place in a very special acoustic setting. Best to book your tickets in advance.
The concert hall is not only an acoustic masterpiece – its architecture also attracts visitors from all over the world.

Did you know that Speicherstadt is the largest historic warehouse complex in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site? Here you will find romantic brick buildings, pointed gables and turrets, canals and many bridges. Take a stroll through the Speicherstadt and soak up Hamburg's impressive architecture. Especially in the evening hours or when it is foggy, the Speicherstadt offers wonderful photo opportunities, not only for architectural photography.

Planetarium in the Winterhude Water Tower

We have a recommendation that you probably haven't heard of yet: the Hamburg Planetarium. It is housed in an old water tower that was rebuilt in 1929. With its massive forms and clear lines, the building is a typical example of North German brick expressionism. Inside you can learn more about astronomy and take part in a variety of interesting and exciting events.
